Folder 9
Instruments and Electrics
Of course there were no electrics or instruments when she arrived, apart from the clever brass screw-top connectors for the navigation lamps. These have a simple device to retain the loose tops , which took me a while to fathom out !
There was no dash panel either, and by another miracle I found one from Roger Baxter which even had the original ( unfindable ) rev-counter in it. . . .truly amazing !!
The other instruments were fairly easy to source and I had them rebuilt by that clever Chris Clark. The rev-counter cable is a complete one-off, and I had that made up by Speedograph Richfield. . . . .a superb job too !
I tucked away all the electrics in this cubby which I made up on the starboard side of the driver. This has, as you can see . . the battery duo on/off switch. The solenoid works the starter, and there are fuses to cover the fuel and 2 electric bilge pumps
The batteries fit neatly under the port front seat
I made up the navigation lamp system, but keep it normally stowed away
