Folder 8. . . . The fuel system

IAs there was no fuel tank I had one made up in Marine stainless steel.  This has to be able to be fitted through the rear seat, and I followed the Admiralty specs again

I used a modern facet fuel pump as the engine-cam driven one was missing and replacements were impossible to find. This meant that I could also fit a spare one alongside.  These pumps have an in-line filter , but before them I have fitted a glass bowl filter with fuel On/Off switch for any large particles. ( ex Jaguar E type ).  The pump is controlled by a switch on the control panel

I then bought a " Separ " water separator filter of sufficient size to mount on the engine bulkhead.  This has a drain-off tap

Here you can see the fuel feed line and the return flow from the injectors

Here is the Rootes blower ( supercharger ).  The small cylinder in the bottom right is the gas capsule starter device.  The engine is happy starting without it.  I think that modern diesel fuel renders it unnecessary
