Folder Four. . . . . .The Cabin.

When the cabin arrived it was as original  and very shabby, except that I think that the kidney-shaped ;window' is probably a late 1950's modification . ( On the plans , it is not, in fact a window at all, but a small rectangular flap to allow the lifting sling to the rear to be be deployed. ) .  I could have replaced the front ply board completely , but for the present had compromised by infilling the hole with the correct flap.  It is not the perfect solution , but leaves the history intact.  I will probably not be using the cabin that much.  I had to replace one of the side hand-rails as it was full of Irish woodworm !!

The cabin is held on by 6 butterfly bolts which were missing.   Luckily the brass receivers were still in place-- with their Admiralty arrow heads, so I made these ones up.

I turned up a set of threaded blanking plugs for when the cabin is not in use.  The brass bar here, has an interesting and almost fatal story which I will relate later

Here is the wrapped stainless steel silencer  and period extinguisher - ( of which, more later )

Cabin mounted. . . .kidney shape though is now modified to suit the Specs.
